Winnebago County Literacy Council

Volunteer Tutor Requirements:

All persons interested in becoming tutors with WCLC must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
  
• Have a high school diploma.
  
• Pass a criminal background check.
  
• Sign an agreement and maintain confidentiality.
  
• Attend a required informational session.
  
• Adult Tutors: Attend the required tutor training workshops (totaling 12 hours).
  
• Child Tutors: Attend the required tutor training workshops (totalling 4 hours).

We ask tutors to commit to meeting for a minimum of two hours per week with their student for one year.
